Default How rich = black smoke?

Has anyone made a relationship of how rich you would have to be to have black smoke coming out the tailpipes at the track? It's NOT my car. Was just wondering. Richer than 10 to 1? I am talking about a fine black cloud that can't be photographed but you can see it. Maybe about two car lengths and no higher than the car.

Probably 10.5~11.5:1. My friend's car was idling 10.5's (yes, idling). We could see a bit of black smoke coming from the pipes. 110 smells good though.

110 smells unbelieveable esp comarped to normal fuel if you don't have cats.

So basically by deduction you SHOULD see minor black smoke when you run nitrous at the track. I have heard to run about 10.5-11 to one when running alot of nitrous. Some instructions my kit came with indicated to reduce jet size at the indiction of any black smoke.
