Default V6 Swap Opinion...

May have a line on a pretty inexpensive 95 roller. Was a 3.4L V6 / Auto. Car doesn't include the engine/trans. Suppose we could just get another 3.4L, but after doing the LS1/T56 swap, really thinking about swapping in a 4.3L / Auto. Anyone try this swap? Problems, issues? I don't know squat about the V6's, but there is no way I want to let the intended driver have 300+ HP. This would be my youngest daughters first car, so a V6 would be great. If there is a better route to take, please let us know. We really don't want to spend a fortune on this one, but she has a bit of time to work on it.

Have you thought about installing a 3.8L V6 from a newer Camaro? If you found one from a 96-97 it would be a bolt in and plug in deal. They make about the same power as the 4.3L but would be a cinch to install and would practically plug right in.

Hadn't thought about the 3.8L, should be pretty available as well. We will look into that one, thanks!

If you can find a wrecked S10 pickup or blazer with a 4.3/4L60e you would have a good setup that would be able to get out of it's own way and still get pretty good mileage.

Swap in a 5.3L they can be had for cheap! Then just have a kiddie tune! Lots of TQ management and set the speed limiter at 85! LOL...

That should keep her save! And you can let her work on it and learn to drive then you can remove or modify the tune as you see fit.

That really is a novel idea. I love it!
