Default MAT sensor

Not sure where to post this.
I have a 2001 Suburban with a Magnacharger, I noticed that they disconect the MAT sensor at the MAF and install one at the Intake manifold after the Supercharger.

My question is what is the MAT input to the PCM actualy do. I understand that it basicly dose nothing but EGR operation on the old ECM contolled MAF cars.

I was wondering what effect it would have if I reconected it at the MAF sensor which would show a cooler intake charge, maybe it would give me more timing or fuel at WOT, or less EGR

Default Re: MAT sensor

I know I'm brain dead after working all night and being up all day, but do you mean the MAP sensor?
Knowing next to nothing about superchargers, I'm assuming it's measuring the amount of pressure, or "boost" the manifold is seeing.
I stand willing to be corrected.

Nope I mean the Manifold Air Temp (MAT).

I notice that the temp is 150 - 160deg F and was just wondering if It was to see a temp of 80deg F would it have more spark advance & fuel at WOT.
