what suspension for my 97 LT1?
so i have decided that i want to lower my 97 Z28. i figured i would get some feedback from you guys. im just gonna do the simple springs and shocks nothing crazy like coil overs. keep in mind my car is a daily driver so i dont want to be to agressive with the setup, but i love the lowered look and would love to improve cornering. so what do you guys recomend.

Do Konis and Stranos if your's is a DD. The strano springs should give you plenty of ground clearance and the konis are awesome shocks.
As with any lowering, you'll want to correct the lowered geometry with lca's and relocation brackets, an adjustable panhard bar. Id also grab new sways front and back and sub-frame connectors for your improved cornering.
Theres a plethora of options honestly, do some research and you'll see.

About 1.2" on LS1's, more like 1" on most LT1's (they sit lower to start with).

No, he's not kidding. Not bad things, not in any way necessary on every car. My car doesn't have any, and if you ask anyone who's been in it (including Ryan from UMI), it isn't a loose rattle trap that doesn't handle.
As a matter of fact, that day I drove my car and another '01 with the same suspension (mine, and you'll be reading about that in around a month and a half), but the other car has SFC's. Drove both cars, my car one way, the other the on the way back, and none of the 4 folks in either car noticed any difference.

You could skip the springs and just put the koni's in. You can do the rear hose mod for the rears and the lower perch setting for the fronts. May drop your car around a half inch or so. Might be better for DD. But do the subframes, theyre worth the money. Go with new sways as well. These 3 things are the most important in your handeling.
