Default Keyspan USB/serial adapter problem

anyone else run this adpater? A few of my friends used it and its twice as fast as my old USB adpater for atap and edit. I went to there sight and got one that looked like the one they had butttt it wont connect to the edit or atap box. The 2 screw holders are to long and wont let the pins connect/slide into the other connector. I have a pic of those screw things im talking about..
