Default cam tune help

i just built my first cam only lS1. i am having some troulble tuning, i am short on cash and dont have headers is it possible to get the VE tables right. its still running 25 percent rich at 100 % ve (from 4000-6500 rpm). i tried pulling fuel but it dont seem to help. any advice? it runs pretty good but lacks good trap speed in the 1/4.

If you have the VE set at 100%, of course your running rich. Unless you are boosted, you are never going to see %100 VE

If you make changes to the VE and see no difference after, you need to answer two questions:

1) If working with a pre-01 operating system, are you making changes to the BACKUP VE table in the appropriate spots?

2) What measures have you taken to ensure the car is running in speed density?
