Default What Heads for 98 cam car

I have a 98 camaro ss with a .231/.237 cam with 114 lsa .598 .596 lift. I am not 100% sure those are exact numbers but if I remember they are. I have the stock heads and want to upgrade. What fairly priced heads would work with this cam and not bang a valve and is there a way to double check while installing? I plan on running spray down the road but would like a nice set of heads now for na. I know I'm choking the motor now. Also what cc should I go with? Thanks for your help

AFR 205s are great heads no doubt, I'm not exactly sure it the fall into the "fairly priced" head category that the original poster stated. Ported 5.3 or LS6 heads from TSP, patriot etc. are a great budget head and and they would boost your compression without sacrificing much/if any PTV clearance(depending on what stage you go with). Find your exact cam specs and use a DCR calculator and get your DCR to about 8.5-8.7 (assuming that you will be running 93 octane) by running a 0.040" cometic head gasket, mill heads, etc. Be prepared that you might have to flycut, that depends on what kind of clearances you are willing to run. I really suggest to go ahead and optimize the set up (quench, DCR, etc.) will you are in there.

FYI, most people on here go with PRCs for budget stock factory castings and AFRs for higher dollar heads.
