Thermostat help please????

I got a 1997 Trans am...I was out riding around and it started getting hot, and the thermostat light came on...so I changed the thermostat and it don't get hot but the light wont go off...anybody know what to do???

Try and disconnect your battery for 30 mins??

+1. Or have someone with a scanner reset your PCM's check codes.
