Default Alignment kits, anyone done it themselves?

Nobody around here wants to touch my car for an alignment since it's lowered. Anyone had luck with some kind of alignment kit? Or is this something I wouldn't want to attempt myself?

you cant really get a good alignment without the machine these days. and if you cant get it good, there is no point in messing with it. there are some guys on here approaching 100 years of age that could possibly explain how to you how to align with 2x4s and string. i'm way to lazy for that though. lol

It's difficult to do at first. But with alot of thought and effort you can do just as good as a machine. You need perfectly level ground, a caster camber gauge, tape measure, straight edges....... But once you understand the concepts and have the tools it gets easier. I don't recommend it unless you are very interested in suspension geometries and such, and don't mind making adjustment then testing, then re-adjusting, more testing and so on.

Make friends with someone that is willing to work with you. Most places don't like cars that actally have more than a toe adjustment. On F-bods they actually have to do some work for their money. They will just give you lies and excuses why they can't/won't do it. Bullcrap.

I'm not 100 yet, but I am on my third Firechicken.

Look on frrax.com, many do it themselves over there.

I am no expert, but I have been learning and praticing a little over 30 years, and learn something new every several days, I think the shade tree may get it close, but I am not sure how you may check the
"thrush line" most cars from dealer are set -10/-20 I like to
set thrust angle + 2/5 on my Y2K ( I have capavility to adjust ) and I track stright,
check my site for a little info on alignment, on opening page click on the" enblem" in certer of page to advance to 2/3 pages for info
good luck, Johnny
