Tranny Swap Let begin with intro. Obviously im dvk678, I have a 94 firebird v6 with auto tranny. In a very near future I am planny to buy a LS1 to drop in that car. The problem is it comes with automatic transmission. I am looking to swap it with t56 before my new engine is ever installed. So the question, I know it my sound idiotic to some of you but... Is there any computer interactions that I need to be aware of, with the AUTO transmission? My engine does come with the PCM and harness. So, do I need to worry about getting the PCM changed or reprogrammed? What modification will I been to do to get T56 working in previous auto car.

You are going to have to change your pedals for the clutch, add a master cylinder and also cut a hole in the floor for the trans shifter. Your center conlsole will have to be modified or replaced. You are going to have to change your front suspension for the added weight of the V8. Just some other thoughts.
