Cool Help- Rear rotor removal on a 2000 Trans am

My 2000 TA has a latch/spring in the back holding on the rotor and hub. I cant seem to disconnect this piece. I already removed the two phillip-head screws that hold it, but it wont come off any further. I need the rotor to come off to be resurfaced. Any thoughts?????

Ok I hate to ask a COMPLETELY obvious question, but is the E-brake engaged inside the car? If you have the e-brake pulled up, the rear rotor will NOT come off. You have to disengage the E-brake in the car and then the rotor should come right off. It might take a little work, but it should come off pretty easily without having to touch the E-brake shoes or the assembly back there.

i dont know what this latch and spring are that are holding on your rotor. do you have aftermarket brakes? my 2002 SS has no such thing...

Anyway. Sometimes you have to do some real persuasive whacking on the back side of the rotor with a big rubber mallet
