Default san diego cam install

i want to get a cam installed on my 2001 camaro ss, but i want a smog friendly cam, i want to have torque because its a daily driver never sees 5000 rpms or higher its an automatic, i have edelbrock shortys and exhuast and hypertech programmer. how much is the norm for a cam install in san diego. i also need to know where the shop is in san diego.

i would suggest a CheaTR cam from thunder racing or StealthII from MTI

small cams get you to 400 im pretty sure these could be smog friendly cams small cams got buddies runnin em good choices

hey i called a shop in santee for my car and they said around 1500$ cam included so i would call aroung i decided that that is too much for me. It seems like not too many shops do it around here. Did your hypertech programmer help at all was it woth it?

I know a couple of people with Thunder Racing 224's that pass no problem.


But both have longtubes so I'm not sure how well the cam works with semi-stock manifolds like yours.

thanks for the reply, but i would really like to find a shop here in san diego. the hypertech really worked good it seems to take off hard now, really worth the price if you get it used, i got mine for 115 bucks on ebay, i think the regular price of 300 and up is way to much. i have a spare unit but you have to reprogram it, i can take a trade or sell it to you.
