American Headers ory w/ or w/o cats
Need some advice (opinions) about my y-pipe. Here's my game plan : looking to get some AFR 205 heads & cam ( haven't decided yet cam specs ). Already have ported tb, LS6 intake, 3600 vig stall and QTP single cutout. I & my wife use this car to drive so I can't get too radical. I guess my question is will have the cats cost me alot of horsepower ? Thanks !!! Don

By the way I just checked out your video. You car sounds AWESOME !!!!!!
I'm ordering my headers next week ! I'm gonna run mine through my stock SS muffler for that kind of stealthy thing. Thanks again. Don

I would go with a catted Y even if you were to loose a few HP. I'm sure the gains if any would be less than 5 HP. I have a catted Y and my Exhaust System doesn't seem to have any Rasp to it.

For what you're looking for...I'd go with a catted y-pipe
The cats that ARH's uses are a VERY nice piece which flows great.
With your set-up there's also 2 more reasons to go with cats...from what I hear, the stock exhausts sound HORRIBLE without cats and also since you'll be running an e-cutout you'll have a free flowing exhaust at the flip of a switch, no cats may just be super loud and obnoxious.
Congrats on going with ARH!
