Re: cams and tuning
The LS6 cam makes peak power around 6-6200 rpms and holds it to 6500 rpms. Z06's have the rev limiter set at 6,600 rpms. I have already installed my LS6 cam and still have the factory rev limit of 6,250 rpms. I plan on having that raised to 6600 rpms soon. Many people are reving their LS6 cam in their LS1 to 6500 and have had no problems. To get the most performance out of the cam you would want to raise the rev limiter but if you don't feel safe doing so keep the stock limit.

I'd highly reccomend changing to some chromeoly push rods since you've got it apart anyway, the stock ones are a weak link, you'll probably break one soon after the install, I've allready had one break and its not fun, do a roll check on the stockers when you get um out, you'll see what I'm talkin about
edit: and since your there.................... tougher valve springs wouldnt hurt either
