Default Hitting the rev limiter @ aprox 4500-4800

Not sure whats going on here. Heres what is happening, I will have the car in drive and from a dead stop it will pull till 4500-4800 and sound like its hitting the rev limiter, then it will shift into 2nd gear.

First thing, i think thats way too low even if its the factory limiter, second, why would it be doing it in automatic mode, i can see if i held first gear. Any ideas?

sounds like one of the two problems I ran into. I would get a slight studder around 2500 and then by 4grand it was like the car hit a brickwall on the acceleration. It progressively got worse to where I could only go up to 2grand and then had to shift.

My opti and coil went bad. that solved abotu 99% of the problem. The other 1% was the coil and ICM getting too hot becuase they were sitting on the head in the stock location but didnt have the AIR Bracket inbetween them. So I have since remote mounted both of them and the problem is gone.

for cheapness sake try just remote installing your ICM and Coil Pack and see if it fixes any.

The rev limiter is close to 7k, so you have another issue, as suggested.

Newbie question, what and where is my ICM? Where did you relocate yours too? Any parts I need to buy to do this?
