1999 Camaro Z28 or SS? How do I know?

All SSs started out as z28s from the factory and were converted by SLP. All VINs will are z28s you have to look for the SLP stickers on the doors. If you dont see any SLP stickers then it is a z28.

According to what research I have, the 1998 models started the change for a SS ordered car to an "in-house" WU8 code. 1996-97 Z/28 models were built and then sent to SLP to "convert them" to SS models. 1998 and later SS models were built by GM, then shipped to SLP with a "temp hood", and then SLP would add the correct hood, spoiler and any other SLP exclusive content.
