Should your oil pressure guage regulate this much?

Should your oil pressure guage regulate this much? When i sit at idle, it sits (don't know the exact measurement) a little past the half way mark. But when i gun it or accelerate pretty quick (higher RPMs), it rises to even over 3/4 of the way to the right. Then when i take it out of gear or slow back down to idle, it eases off. Just wondering, nothing feels wrong.
