Can starter be mounted to bellhousing ?
I installed a LS2 aluminum block and I had an issue after motor was back in that the outer starter hole tab cracked down the middle of the thread so I only had 1 screw holding the starter in tightly. The small tab on the inside of the starter that the small bolt went through broke off as it couldnt suppport the weight itself. I had a proff. welder come out and look at it and he said he would need the block out of the car to properly weld it and I dont wanna pull it out till next year or so. Question is: Is there a bellhousing that has provisions to mount a starter directly to the bellhousing besides the rear mount ones that would require a custom clutch as that setup is approx 1500-3500 ? any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ron H.
p.s. application is a 2000 TransAm 402 aluminum block, afr heads, fast 90/90 etc...
