Default LT1 Power Steering Pump Install

ok so i got the old pump out and got the new one sitting on the bracket but not bolted up. I've spent the past 90 minutes trying go get this hard line thats threaded onto the pump. Any suggestions or help on how to get it on. If I don't get it on soon I'm running out to the fireworks store and buying some dynamite and gonna blow this mother up. I'm so pissed! Here's a pic. If you look at the ps pump and you'll see a cylinder lookin thing and if you look at the bottom of it you can barely see the metal line I'm talking about.

Might be easier if you unclamp the other end of the hose from the reservoir and take it and the pump into the house so that you can position the threaded end exactly as it needs to be to go in. Even better if you have a bench vise or some means to hold the pump steady so that you're not fighting against yourself by trying to hold it with one hand while you thread the hose with the other in that cramped space where it's hard to see what you're doing.
