Temporarily incr. idle-drive by wire
Is there a way to increase the idle on a drive by wire LS1, w/o having to hook up a computer and use software? Or having another person siting in the car pushing the foot feed...
I need to have the engine run at 1800 rpm while charging the A/C.

Well if you have the ability to tune, you might be able to raise it that much. I've never tuned so I dont know. Maybe a vacuum leak would do it? lol Jack up the rear end and put it on cruise?

Put piece of 2x4 on gas pedal and wedge into your carpet with pedal where you want it. That's how I bled my brakes too.( i'm too cheap to buy one of them vacuum things!) But why do you have to be at 1800 rpm? I charged mine idling and it seems to work fine. Took a little while but works. Put garden hose on condensor because fans take forever to come on. Good luck.

Well, it sounds like, as I suspected, there is no simple way to do it (i.e. turn the idle screw type of thing) as opposed to bricks on the pedal. If I find out something I'll post back.
Why 1800? That is wat Vintage Air recommends.
Interestingly I put only 24 oz of Freon in, even though they say to put 28.8, and it was overcharged with that amount. AT least it seems that way. High head pressure. In fact, I had it charged by a shop first, and they got it cold, but first time I turned it on, it blew a hose. So, I'm making an effort to get it right.
