Default gm847 cam with boltons, come in

What did you set your shift points to? I have a complete bolt on car with a 847 cam. Right now my shifts are at 6900 which is way too high. I need to get a base shift point so i can tune it safely without killing my motor. Who has dynoed this combo and where did your **** points end up at?

I have a CC306 and full boltons which is similar to the 847 and mine is set to shift at 6500rpm, but 6200 is the highest recommended shift piont for a stock bottom end. I have had no problums at 6500 yet but I dont beat on it constantly.

my 306 was shifted at 6800...stock heads and bottom end with a 3200 stall and 3.73 it went 12.0 11.9

id say your right in the right area for shiftpoints...id keep them there inless you go with nitrous, then id drop them to 6600-6700 and use that tq from the nitrous more

for autos id reccomend the 306 no bigger....or 503....306 for sticks

no port on the heads right now. I do have a kit hooked up and plan on a 150 shot. So yea i was gonna put them a bit lower and make up for it in the nitrous. So ill get them set at 6700.

I ran this combo with boltons, but in an M6, sorry can't help ya, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! Seriously though I shifted at about 6500 although it was a manual.

BTW awesome vid, makes me miss the good old days of running the 847 with 1.7 RRs.

Well i got good new..... i just saved hundreds of dollars by switching to Geico Insurance, lol. I go them set to 6600. Now ill be able to get a good run in without worring about my motor. Then a dyno tune in the next couple weeks. You guys think i should get 30lb injectors for this set up or no? Especially with nitrous.

30# won't hurt but your stockers are good for now, how big a shot are you running?

i plan on a 100 right now then work my way to a 150. I plan on upgrading my whole fuel system, its next on my agenda to support what i got now and for later. So then if my stockers will work for now ill get everything else at once and do it later.

wet or dry kit? If its a wet kit you don't need to sweat the injectors as much size wise, size the injector as if it was N/A. Fuel noid should supply the fuel you need.
If its a dry hit you will def. need injectors.

Right on track with that shift point, but that's the beauty of a manual valve body car, shift when you want to.
