Issues with putting a carbed 383 in a LT1 Camaro?
Looking at doing a carbed 383. Has anyone put one in a 4th gen if so...
1. Motor mounts line up?
2. Will it bolt up to the A4 trans w/o an adaptor of some kind?
3. Any issues with getting a distributor to fit?
4. If so, can i relocate the distributor?
And if anyone thinks of any other issues with this swap let me know. The engine I have is out of a 85 Blazer I believe.

What do you think you are going to gain with this swap? You know the only Gen 1 factory heads that compare to the LT1 ones are Vortecs and there are a LOT of aftermarket gen 1 heads that flow less than the LT1 heads.
Motor mounts are fine
Tranny will boltup no problem though it needs computer control a carb wont give it.
Signifigant issues getting a distributor to fit.
Why not "relocate the distributor to the front or better yet just use an LT1.
I think you REALLY need to get a handle on what the LT1 is capable of because you are trying to step backwards. If the rotating assembly in the 383 is a nice one it can be used in an LT1 block. If the heads are something good and aftermarket they can be made to work with an LT1 as well.
