IS a GTO T56 and bellhousing the same as an F-body T56 and bellhousing?

What year GTO did the T56 come out of. I beleive the 05 and 06 GTO's had a differant gearing. The bell housing should be differant from a f-body to a GTO tho, but I am not sure about that.

So other than the difference in gear ratio theyre a direct swap? It's out of an 06. I know the GTO shifter is different, do I need to use a shifter from a GTO? This is actually going in a 57 Chevy, and I found a few swaps with F-body transmissions, but I found a good deal on a GTO T56 and I wanted to make sure it would work for me. Thanks!
