Default rev limiter

does anyone know the r.p.m. where the rev limiter comes in on a 2001 ls1 camaro, and how much can you raise it to with a diablo programmer. thanks guys.

The factory settings cut everything off at 6182 (If I remember correctly) And the maximum you can go to is 6800. Although I wouldn't recommend going over 6200 on a stock valvetrain. Float=Bad

how many of you have actually bounced the rev limiter? i have never and i know the consequences but i know these motors are very durable.

Not familiar with Diablo programmers (I use HPTuners), but all stock LS1s I've seen had fuel cutoffs set at 6200 from GM. Most tuners raise the cutoff to 6400 or so when tuning.

iv hit the rev limiter a **** load in my 2000 T/A and never had a problem. if GM thought it was going to cause problems hitting it they would have not set it as high.
