Default conversion wiring ?

do i need relays for the ignition system or just fused for #1 and #2 ?

the attachment shows 5 relays for ignition....not sure why

Looks like that diagram was set up the way I usually set my wiring up. The 3 relays to the right are for the fans, then the next one is for the fuel pump. The 3 relays starting from the left are just ignition relays. You don`t HAVE to use them, they can be replaced with fuses, but if you do that you will be adding a potential draw of 80Amps across your ignition switch. I don`t like to do that because GM did leave some reserve capacity on the switch, but I don`t know if they left an extra 80A of capacity. In the newer cars GM uses relays just like this schematic does.

ok, but why 3 ignition relays for a 2 bank system ?

Theres 3 relays because they power more than just the 2 banks.

Relay 1 powers the odd bank
Relay 2 powers the even bank
Relay 3 powers the sensors (MAF, O2, etc)
