I was pulling off some not needed parts off my LS1 and and pulled the exaust manifolds.. I would imagine I can get rid of the tubing that goes from the manifolds cause my headers dont have hook ups for them.. But what other hoses can I get rid of that are associated with this??

Also can I get rid of the round thing that the hoses go into??

Hope that make sense??

Round thing should be the EGR. Just remove it and block of the intake hole and have the EGR code deleted for the PCM.

Will an OBD1 car pass the sniffer test without egr ?

If the inspection guidelines in your specific locale require all of the emissions equipment to be connected and correct for the engine installed in your vehicle, probably not.

If the inspection guidelines aren't quite as strict, then a good tune "might" get you around the sniffer.

If the check engine light is "on" (code 32, I believe) for an OBD1, then you'll have issues.

my county doesnt care about the check engine light in obd1 cars. All they do really is tick a sensor in the tailpipe to analyze what coming out.

Wow, we don't have to do anything at all. We removed the evap, the AIR injection, the cats, and the rear O2's. Engine is an 02, so no EGR anyway.

some emission tests only apply to the year of the vehicle..i.e. if you put a new motor in a 1967 Camaro, the test, if applicable, would only apply to the 69 model year vehicles...but check your local laws to make sure....i would imagine you could delete the A.I.R. and EGR......
