Power steering fluid in the antifreeze. Need some help please
ok so i posted this in a different section but didnt get much help. I'm workin on a 98 ss. the radiator hose has the piece of hard pipe in it with two lines coming from the power steering pump. Thought maybe i had the lines backwards so i changed them around and it's still doing it. The power steering fluid keeps mixing with the coolant so now i got a mix of antifreeze, water, and power steering fluid in the pump reservoir and the same mixture circulating my coolant system. The car never gets over 180 so its stayin cool enough. What could have broke? I know its not supposed to be like that. Need some help before somthin gets tore up. Thanks

That means your power steering cooler has internally ruptured. It's the metal pipe in the upper radiator hose. You can delete it & get a new hose without it, or replace it. It's cheaper to just get the hose without it & move on.
Same thing happened to me not too long ago.

ok now thats what i thought. I was just gonna take a line off the power steering pump and connect it to the other side so it just bypasses the cooler and circulates its self. Also do the same on the radiator pipe; just connect the to fittings with one hose and let it curculate itself. I was told that it had to have the cooler though and that wouldnt work.

You do not have to have the cooler. Whoever told you that is full of ****. Not every f-body came with them & most the people who have them have removed them b/c of this same problem. The only time you might NEED one would be if your autox's your car.
Just call your local parts store & tell them you need the top radiator hose for your car w/o the cooler in it. I think it's like $20 for a new one.
