Default hot to use stock shifter with th400

i have a th400 wondernig on how to use my stock shifter dont wanna hack up car, have a reverse manual valve body please help thanks!

You can do it you just have to modify the gate on the shifter.I used it for a while but ended up going with a aftermarket after i kept pulling throu second gear

like he said! all it takes is a little grinding on the gate of the stock shifter... I havent done it yet but ima rig up a spring on mine to hopefully to help from short shifting...and a bolt on the back of it to keep it from putting a bind on the linkage when in 3rd gear(with a reverse manual)

What i did to mine was grind out the stop between OD-D then i cut a notch where D was on the gate,and welded a plate with abolt to block 1st on the shifter.What this did was lock the shifter in to second and to get to drive you would have to push the botton down,but 1st-2nd you could just pull it with out using the button.This was for a RMVB,OD=1st D=2nd 2=D.I also tried to put a heavier spring to suck it up in the notch lock it in to 2nd and keep it from going to drive,but found if i was a little excited i just yank through it.
