Default What type of rear end??

Hello, I currently have 2.73 auburn setup in my 98 z. I wanna
take a set of 3.42 gm gears my friend gave me and build a rear unit. I'm gonna keep my 10 blot, so what do u suggest? I plan on doing some more mods. Don't plan to be over 400hp.
Does Eaton or Auburn make a good rear carrier aftermarket that I can put in there? I do run a couples times a year at the 1/8 mile track.

If you are talking about building the stock 10 bolt, it has pretty much been proven time and time again that it just isn't worth it. You can build it up as much as you want, but it is still going to be a 7.5 inch rear. Normally a car like yours(auto and no internal motor mods) wont break the 10 bolt, but you know what: **** happens. The ten bolts break when they want, they have been into the 10's with wheels up launches and they have broke on cars with a stock motor.
