Exclamation My Frount Light when I close it makes like a growling noise any ideas

Hey uh i have a question witch i think i know who it is but just wanting to make shore my frount light when i close it makes a growling noise and some times catches i dont know why any help and is there a way to switch the trans am light to like the vets where the suck in instead of sitting up

the gear is prob chewed up. all though it hasnt happened to me yet. ive read in the stickys that they are one of the weak links in the car. try reading some of the stuff in the TA section.

Yea it is the gear. Some thing happened to me on my old TA.

There is a guy in my area that machines metallic gear replacements for the cheap nylon gears in the light. I think they are like 30 bucks or something.

They are $40 and the place where I got them, I don't believe they are a sponsor so I can't post it. I think it is a great investment for any 93-02 f-body to get them even if your TA or firebird isn't grinding headlight gears yet. If it hasn't happened to you yet, it eventually will. There's nothing you can do about it.

Yep sounds like gear. Try to take it apart and "flip" the gear. If it hasn't already been done you'll get years out of it that way.
