Default Procharger Guys-input please

I have an sts system right now, and am lookin to go with a procharger. The ?'s that i have are which one to choose, i am debating between the P-1 or the D-1, during the coarse of the up coming winter i will be building the motor(have already purchased new pistons, and rods and other engine parts) and i am gonna run stock displacement with the procharger. I am looking for good streetable horsepower, able to track it on sat. and drive on sunday. I have 12 bolt sitting at home(i live in Arizona right now, home is Minnesota). To cut to the short will i make better power than the sts with which charger? and how much should i expect to spend...doesnt matter would just be good to know. And any other thing u would like to add is cool in helping me make a decision. thanks.

The D1 is such a cheap upgrade when purchasing new, it doesn't make sense not to do it... Just like the 8 rib system.

At the time of ordering, its a cheap upgrade to go with the D1sc, with a forged motor the p1 will run out of steam quick. A d1sc on a 347 will take you to the 700hp levels no problem, which is a bit to handle on the street.

Give us a ring for pricing on a kit, we can supply you with everything to get the car back on the road in no time.

call Bob at EPP a sponsor here, he is a great guy and has the best prices around for Prochargers. around 550 rwhp was about the max I could make with a p1sc and stock cubes. I would say go d1sc and 8 rib from sdce and you would have a awesome street combo and very reliable.

Get the D1, do an FMIC & don't mess with the ATI twins. I delt with EPP & am very satisfied with the pricing & service, did my own install & got local help on the tuning. Worked out great.

My question is why do you want to change? I Have a D1sc and wish it were more like a turbo. They work well how they were design but they dont build power down low like turbo's. If all your looking for is power from 4500 to redline they the d1 for sure but if you want more usable power without having to have your motor revved out to get it then go turbo all day! If you do still decide on procharging call bob he was great. but between a d1sc and a p1sc definitly a d1sc because its to hard on p1's to build the power, i watched a p1 blow up on the dyno from them trying to over spin it to produce numbers close to the higher d1's

If you check out Procharger's tech specs, there isn't much difference in max flow between the blowers (1200cfm vs 1400cfm), the housings are in fact the same, and the only real difference I could come up with researching the benefits of the D1sc vs the P1sc was once you start boosting well into the double digits (as in 15psi+) and getting into the 700+ hp range.

If you can get a deal on a P1sc, get it.
With that being said, if you will be ordering a kit, get the D1sc for a few hundred more...

just make sure you get the 8rib set up, for whatever blower you get. for the money, the d1sc is a better deal.

I have the D-1 with the 8-rib, cam, headers and ORY and I'm putting 570 to the ground now and after I rework my fuel system I'll go well over 600. I'm using 9 pounds of boost and I have a E85 tune. I see your home is in MN where there is E85 at the pumps. I'm in SD and there is a shop here in SD that sells/installs ProCharger systems and he is very sharp in the tuning department and excellent at E85 tunes.

D1 with an 8rib, the turbo is just a pain. When you have a 5+ liter motor with a good cam and proper tune "low end" should not be a problem. I can stab my car in 1,2, or 3rd gear and burn 555 nitto's at will, what would be the point of more low end torque?
