Default Carmax and there warranty??

Has anyone here purchased a car from carmax. Thats where i got my 02 ls1 from. I just wanted to know how they are on there warranty. My car is making that common noise that's sounds like its coming from the lifters at cold starts. Anyone tried to get that problem fixed while there car was still under warranty. Just wanted to know before i made that call

GM declared the piston slap on cold starts to be normal and denied any warranty claims for it. They said it doesn't affect the durability or life of the motor. (Yea right!!) I went through the whole dog and pony show with them with a truck motor. They offered me a 100,000 mile non-transferable warranty on the motor and that's it. Carmax might follow GM and declare it to be normal too. Good luck.

umm yea the "lifter" noise is piston slap. my car has been doing it since i bought it 3 years ago (have over 100k on it now, still driving it like i stole it) they all do it, it's no big deal. it doesnt hurt the life of the motor. they probably wont do anything about it.

german castrol 0w30 can quieten it down a little bit though
