I'm thinking of getting an 02 Z28 that needs a new T56. I haven't contacted the seller, so I don't know what exactly happened to the original transmission (car itself has 66k miles).

So, about how much would the total cost be to get a new T56 and have it installed by a shop?

Depends on where you are located and who you get to build the unit and install it for you . Prices vary from shop to shop and sometimes by a whole lot too .
