Default Scoping interest in fabrication of harness bars...

As a new sponser of tech, it has come to our attention that harness bars are hard to find for these cars. Would there be interest in having us jig up a removable bar that attaches to where the factory rear seatbelts are currently?

If so, any specific requirements that would be needed?

yea i would be interested in one. neen lookin for one. i think LG was dellin one but way overpriced.. u have any idea on when and how much???

Yeah I was looking for one a while back and had no luck anywhere. I saw a few pictures of them, but still had no luck on where to buy one. I think it would be a good idea for someone to offer these.

im interested. i have a cage in my car will it work around that or will i haev to modify my cage?

Wouldn't having the rollcage not need a harness bar? I think they want to market it to the people who want harnesses (like in roadracing where you don't need a rollcage in some classes) but don't have the crossbar like in the rollcages.

i think in some roll cages the harness bar is an option you have to opt for. i would buy a harness bar, its the only thing stopping me from buyin my new seats and harnesses.

i think you should make them and you might as well make strut tower bars while your at it too

this post fell back a few pages when I first posted it so lost track. The current plan is for us to get my wife's car to the shop for mock up (all the other cars at the shop are tubbed and don't have provisions). We'll post up some pictures and pricing in the next few weeks (after the holidays)

I'm in the process of trying to sell my car, but one of the major things that I wasn't able to do was go with a harness bar and I would LOVE to have something like that for it if it doesn't sell. I've got the Corbeau's and rear seat delete, but no harnesses.

My appreciation goes out to you for attempting to do this and look forward to the final result and pricing.

I have always felt unless its just for show, your better off goin with at least a 4-point cage with harness bar built in. My reason is most guys running harnesses have at least a (4) point cage to pass tech casue the car is below a certain E.T. & harnesses are needed.

Would be cool for a pure street car/show car though so you could have the look without the entire cage.

some people arent drag racing. i need it for HPDE and scca. cant see putting a cage into it. to much of a pain in the ***. now i can but some racing seats now if u make this harnes bar fireball

You just better make darn sure for liability reasons that it is constructed properly and holds the shoulder harness portion of a harness setup at the correct angle. There are proper mounting positions that ensure that the shoulder harnesses go over your shoulders at the proper approach angle - if someone were to get in an accident, using a harness bar that is improperly positioning the shoulder harnesses, and they get hurt (you can actually get hurt worse with improper shoulder harnesses than with none at all) - watch out - there are loads of people out there that would sue you for looking at them crooked...

absolutely. definitely interested. take a look at the rear seat delete kit at http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com

if the bar would work with that kit i'd buy it in a second.

Thumbs up here is a pic of mine in the car

Here is the harness bar I had installed for the 4 point harness seat belts in the rear seat and it also helps hold the amps in the shelf / hatch area for the stereo set-up

hard to see....pic is small. i hope you take all that stereo equipment out when you race....thats got to be an extra 100 or so pounds back there. also, im guessing this bar that fireball is making will be a little different. yours seem to go straight up after attaching.....i think fireball's will be coming forward, closer to the front seats.

perfect its nice someone is going to produce them again. I have been waiting for one to pop up for sale since i got the seats and harnesses.
