Default Need Info For Best Cam

Ok I have a 98 Vette, I just bought ls6 intake and 243 heads. Im planning on getting a twin turbo setup in a year or so. I was wondering what the best turbo cam I could get and still see decent power with the car until I get the turbo installed. I know I can get a z06 cam for nothing and they do alright. But I was just wondering if I should get something different. Im only planning on 6 to 8 psi on an otherwise stock motor.

Our blower cam works great with twin turbos as well as with superchargers.

Here is a video of a twin turbo Corvette that we built about four years ago that has this camshaft in it. Bob

Good question and we have not tried it in a normally aspirated situation. I would think it would still give you a good horsepower increase from the spec's on the cam. Bob

Very interesting Bob. I was gonna contact you for a cam recomendation on my application. My engine (see specs) will need to be able to operate at a lower rpm at cruise speeds. With my gears and tranny, my engine will be at 1500rpm @70mph. How would a cam like the one above work in my heavy A body? I am also running a Victor Jr. intake with an elbow and 90mm TB. Witch I know isnt good for lower rpm, but thought the turbos may conpensate for it. Any thoughts?

Thanks - Ron

I wouldn't use our cam with your combination if you are looking for a lot of low end rpm torque. With the Victor Jr, and a higher rpm camshaft, I'd expect the low end to be severely affected. There certainly is a trade off when you're going to higher horsepower parts, but then again if your turbos are sized for spooling at a lower rpm, the trade off may not be too bad. Bob
