I've always used 2000 grit for factory paint, removes orange peel and small scratches, then hit it with 3m cutting compound on a buffer with a wool pad, then go back with a foam pad and a polish/swirl remover and then hit it with some wax

well i did both my factory camaro grill and my own gloss berger panel with the duplicolor gloss black and clear. then i would give it a few days and wet sand it with 1500 the a light sand with 2000 then get my porter cable and buff it with 3m compound and a yellow pad.then hit it with a white pad with mezerna intensive polish the a coat of wax.
i did a small section(behind the grill as a test spot and the lip under the grill)i used 1500 then 2000 and it made a big diference like all the little spots where gone. the reflection is glossyer. i would still like the link to to compare note's tho. thanks
