Who's using an alluminum center section in a nine inch and running 9.5's or quicker? I'm wanting to know how they hold up? What type of sixty foot time are you pulling? If any manufacturer is better then the others what one should I buy?
Thanks Mike
Trying to save a few pounds but don't want any problems leaving the line.

.
A bunch of us have gone away from them. My slow car @ 8.50's & 3200lbs and my fast car 6.50's @ 2400lbs are too violent and the flex tear's them up. My opinion, not worth saving the weight on something that takes that much load & stress. Besides it sucks changing gears every few pass'. Good luck.

Dont be too afraid, three years, around 450 passes and zero issues here. I had it out this spring to look at the bearings and ring and pinion and stuck it back in.
1.25-1.28 60's, Moser aluminum center.
edit: oh yea not to mention a few thousand street miles on top of all that..

the light duty Strange case will hold up fine up to about 1.30's im running one in my 3750# high 9 street car and it is fine. i footbrake, though. the Moser thru-bolt case is the next best, but it is another 150.00 more than the Strange. the best one out there is the Strange ultra-case. it is designed for Top Sportman, Prostock, and heavier/higher powered cars. it would be money well spent if you want to do it right the first time. the Ultra-case pinion support has a rear bearing thats about 4 inches in diameter.
