Default top or bottom??

in 2 weeks i'm gonna be doing a head/cam swap and am wondering for 2 people if it is a time saver to pull the k member down and remove the engine out or just keep it in the car?? i have heard people pulling it out from the top but i have no cherry picker....

Just my $.02,

If you have no cherry picker, you're probably not set up to get the car high enough to drop the cradle and get good access to the motor. So you'd probably be better off just doing the h/c swap with the shortblock in place. Don't bother either way, just start pullin' parts.

Other problem with dropping the cradle is having to get an alignment and bleeding the brake system. Not worth it for 'just' an H/C swap, especially without a lift.

Good luck,

Andrew

Why would you want to pull the motor for a heads and cam swap? Do it with the motor in the car otherwise it is 5X the amount of work for nothing.

I agree leave the motor in it'll be easier that way.
