Default 383 for a 1955 bel air

I am in school for automotive mechanics and have a motor rebuild/machining class coming up and wanted to build a motor for my dad who is planning on buy a 1955 bel air some time in the near future. I was looking for some info for this build I dont know a alot about performance motor but I am learning everyday. He wants a pump gas motor with alot of power but nothing crazy in price. I can do all the block work and some porting just need to know a good base to start with. He was wanting to run a 383 4 bolt main but I need to know a good set of heads, pistons, and a cam with a nice slow lope sound to it hes looking for around 450 to 500hp. Thanks for the help.

Semi easy, Track 1 Brodix heads, Srp pistons 10.1 comp, build a 6 inch rod motor, a hyd roller, with like 236/242 cam, will be very close to your goal, could back down one cam, to a 230/236 both cams are comp grinds, in there extreme cam line up.
