Default 6.0L for $1500?

I just got my sts turbo kit back on after a somewhat costly oil leak and I was a friends house today after a little racing. I was talking to my friends dad and he was telling me that he knew where a silverado with a 6.0L in was wrecked and that the engine was all there and was for sell...I've only got a 4.8 in my silverado right now and I'm really considering buying this engine. I'm just kind of weary about it being out of a wrecked truck though...but, then again, there's no replacement for displacement. What do you guys think???

$1500 seems a bit steep to me, I could buy a high mileage complete 6.0 motor from a junk yard locally for $600

Depends on age, milage, and completeness. $1500 could be a fair price for a newer low milage complete( intake to oil pan with accessories and PCM ) 6.0L motor.
