Default NO EGR on 01-02 Reasons?

Im sure this is an old topic, but I still dont know. Why did they omit the EGR system on 01-02 F bobys? Is it a good idea for 98-00 to get rid of it? Any comments?

Its not on the 01-02's because its not needed. They run clean enough without it and it's best to leave it off. On your model its part of the package so removing it will effect your emissions as far as fed and state laws are concerned.

Cam profiles are less aggresive so they can get away w/out it. You can run w/out it, but unless you have LS1Edit, or Predator, your going to have a SES on all the time. you really wont notce any performance advantage, or at elast I havent. But there is a total of maybe 12lbs you remove off the front of the car.
