Default Novice Question About Tire Sizing

I just got this 2000 Z-28 about 3 months ago and it came with 255/45/17's all around.

I just bought 2 Kumho Ecsta ASX 275/40/17 for the rear. Two of the old 255/45/17 tires still have 50% tread left on them so they will be moved up front.

Will this configuration cause any kind of problems?

I can always go ahead and buy two more 275/40/17's on ebay - put those up front and then be the same all around.

Should I always keep 275's on the rear and 255's on the front in the future?

Any advice?

THANKS!!!!!

Depends on your wheel size. If all four wheels are the same, and say 9" wide, I'd run 4 275/40ZR17 tires . . .

a 2000 z28 should have stock 17x9 inch wheels and 275/40/17 tires; right?

A stock Camaro SS has 17" x 9" wheels with 275/40ZR17 tires.

A stock Camaro Z28 has 16" x 8" wheels with 235/55R16 or 245/50R16 tires.

that is correct xsta z 28

i would use the staggard tires because you arent going to be rotating them anyways

by the time the rears are gone the fronts will have wear on the inner side of the tires then get 315/35/17 in the rear.....and yes they will fit on a stock rim and 275/40/17 on the front
i have pics on my old 98z if you wanna see them
