Default Is EFIlive necessary if you have LS1edit?

Is EFIlive necessary if you have LS1edit? Or does EFIlive show more parameters than LS1edit? Also, can you record with both? I understand that EFIlive is strictly a diagnostics/engine parameter viewing program, whereas LS1edit allows PCM changes to be made. I like being able to record a pass and reviewing it in the pits. I have been searching this forum for the last 2 hours and have read up on these programs. I have even visited www.carputing.com and http://www.autotap.com/EFILiveV5.html to read up on these programs. I want the most tuning flexibility as I do everything myself. Im sure this question has been covered already, but I searched and didnt find a firm answer on this. Thanks guys.

LS-1 Edit is for programming only and EFILive is for logging data, clearing codes, etc.

To do it right, you need both LS1 Edit and some type of diagnostic scanner (such as EFILIve). BTW - EFILive is Kick ***!!
