Default Anyone running the CAT damper??

Just curious if anyone is running a CAT harmonic damper. It's fluid filled and is SFI approved. I got one that is getting ready to go on and I notice that it's a bit bigger in diameter then the asp pully. Will a larger pully lose power over a smaller one? I think George C. runs one so it must not be that bad.

Default Re: Anyone running the CAT damper??

I had one (still have the balancer, in fact...). It seems like a decent piece for the money, but I managed to shear off all 6 bolts that hold it together. Before installing it, I'd try to find a matching grade 8 bolt and use some red thread lock on them. If you cant find the right bolt with the angled head for them to be countersunk, I'd just use a large enough flat washer (against the face of the balancer), and a lock washer.
