Default Cleaning up Clearcoat

Does anyone know if you can help to clean up the clearcoat on factory rims with typical car waxes???

do you mean the oxidation and flaking coat? or clear coat over spray? For the over spray I used a clay bar on chrome ZR1s and it came right off. On factory rims I'm not sure there is too much you can do with oxidation, maybe sand and reclear them, but that sounds like quite the ordeal for stock wheels. Good luck.

I'm sorry, I didn't really come across right with the question. I have a set of stock '01 WS6 wheels that really aren't in too bad of shape. I guess I was just wondering if the clearcoat used from the factory would respond to wax in a similar fashion that the car's finish does. I have no desire to strip the wheels what so ever at this time, they just don't need it. Just wondering if something like a standard wax would help brighten the clearcoat up a bit more.
Thanks.
