Default Cam Install in tacoma washington area?

hello, Im looking to install a Cam in my goat. Im in the Tacoma area and looking for some place that can do the install and not charge a fortune. I have been quoted some crazy prices....from 1700 to 2200 dollars. I cant justiy that amount. I have considered doing the Install myself but have never done this process before. So if anyone out there could give me some info on a good place to go that would be great. thanks

I say go for it. If your mechanically inclined, you'll be fine. The LS motors are 10x easier to work on than the older style small blocks... Just find a good tuner.

Full cam install doc here:
http://konrademrich.com/cars/gto/ls1gtocaminstall.doc
modified from LS1Howto specifically for the 04 GTO but much of it applies to the 05~06

Hey Radkon did you ever change the write-up to list that it was not recommended to pull the crank pulley on w/the TTY bolt??

Yep, I added a warning and suggested another method. Just like the lifters, there's more than one way to skin a cat.
