timing chain advice
i'm building a 402 iron block motor, coming over from the lt1 world. so this is all new. i was looking at the melling high pressure oil pump (p/n: 10296) and wanted to know what timing chains clear this pump and the ls1 front cover that are double rollers.
also do you need to run one with a thrust bearing or torrington that i've seen some kits come with.

the new melling #10296 pumps are casted differently for better clearance with Dbl. row t/c sets. The new pumps are black in color and still should be looked at closely for chain interference when installing them. I have not used the new casting yet with Dbl. row chain set, but from the looks of it, it should fit alot better then the old casting did. All the JP Performance timing sets use and coming with torrington bearings.
