so i have been searching but really havent found much...if i take an 01/02 trans am stock to a local shop about how much could i look to spend on a good head/cam package with? also do i need to get a tune afterwards? what happens if i dont? sorry if these are n00b questions im just trying to figure it out...thanks

3200-7600$ lol, i have seen all kinds of prices since joining the forums. the biggest diff in price will be the heads 1000$ patriots up to 2600 for trick flows AFRs. let some of the vendors come along and they will give you a better idea

I just did my heads/cam swap. I bought my heads and cam used but everything else i used was new. I did all the work myself and i spent less than $2,000 for everything, including ls6 oil pump/ls2 chain and new comp 850 lifters. I havent gotten a tune yet but yes, you will need a tune as well. So that will set me back another $400.
