Could be needle bearings from your rockers. Pull the valve covers to confirm.

that sucks man. pull the valve covers and take a look at the rockers. not sure if there is more damage, i guess anything is possible. whatever you do, don't shoot yourself or buy an 03 cobra. spend the money from the gun and the cobra on a 422

Hey, don't shoot yourself!

Drinking yourself to death is much more pleasant...

I believe there are 33 of those needle bearings on each side of the rocker. You will find most of them after time goes by. Don't worry about it. Just replace the broken rocker.

BTW, they won't go though the screen in the oil pickup.

I just looked at one and it looks like 33 would be about right. That is also per side of the the rocker. So if both sides came apart then 66 would be floating around.

Rockers took a **** ehh
Dont shoot yourself, shoot a cobra.
Dont worry about it. just go crazy like everyone else and get you a ser of yella terras. Comp also make a set of shaft mounts for the LS1. They seem pretty high tech and bad ***. Worth the money to me.

Well guys i really really appreciate all the replies except Camaroholics cause i have lots of reason to be scared still!!! Well with that said I'm inviting all that replyed to a arsss kicking party where all of you get to kick me and a friend of mine in the jimmy!!!

WHY YOU ASK!! Oh let me explain in detail for ya. Took the rockers off not one was open on the side. Had 3 rockers from Fireball (thanks for being there for a fellow LS1er bud, i really appreciate it). Well to my dismay i'm like OMG what else could have done this. Well I call and call and a friend that helped me with the Mcleod Revlok install calls me back with the info needed. Friends says this "dude you wont believe this i know what the bearings are." really? what? "they are to you roller pilot bearing that came apart when we took it out to put the new clutch in". I was like OMG!!!!! I ripped my hole motor apart for that. Well there you have it ladies and gentleman. When we took out the roller pilot bearing that was in with the Cartek cluth/CARJUNK! we used a slide hammer to get it out and it broke on the first hit and the next pushed the bearings in and didn't know it. KILL ME I KNOW I KNOW I"M A MORON!!!

I didn't know the clutch area and oilpan are connected in an LS1 There's no way this could happen on a SBC.

I could see that happening if the center core plug in the rear of the crankshaft was removed.

there is no way this could happen unless what was said above this post. I have taken my clutch out twice, there are NO holes for those needle bearing to get thru unless something is seriously fucked up. If u want, take it apart and take a look but I would bet money it's not.

they tried using grease to remove the bearing at first which messed up the plug...thats what it is...he found no damaged rockers...nothing else could leave needles in the engine (that I know of)

Since the LS1 crank is hollow, and there is a crank oil gallery plug in the back of it, if they tried using grease, I could see them pushing the plug in to the motor... And if they destroyed the pilot bearing, I could see that happening too.

Hopefully the plug was properly replaced as well?

Ok, first off, you 2 are never allowed to work on my car.

I agree with fireball though, I don't see anywere else for the needlest to come from if the rockers are all intact.

Well I guess I have another reason to cry now!! I can't believe you decided to tell me about this crank seal now? Where in the heck is this seal? Behind the pilot bearing? What would happen if its not there? Oil pressure is where it usually is and i notice no leaks near the tranny. Whats the purpose of the seal? Oh and where the heck did the plug go.. just further down the crank? Don't tell me I need to take my oil pan off somehow and look for this and take the clutch all back out etc. How about this take the Pulley bolt off and push a new plug in? HEH GOOD GOOD NAH I'm F'D!
