2006 5.3 price
I am going to swap a 5.3 or 6.0 into my 50 chevy truck project. I have found a 5.3 local with 52 miles from a totaled 2006 tahoe. they are asking 3K for the engine and trans combo complete with all accerories, ECM and harness. is this a good price? it is flex fuel, is that a plus or minus? also has electronic throttle but they do not have the pedal assy. thanks

I paid $2100 shipped to my door for a 2003 yukon 5.3/4L60E complete wiring, all accessories and it included the pedal and module with only 44k. Also got the copy of the title stating 44k. This was about 3 months ago.

On a related note, I've run across an ad from someone that's offering a 40,000 mile 6.0 from an '03 Denali or Escalade "engine is complete with computer and wiring harness" - for $1400.
My initial plan was to get an '04 or newer engine, & to hold out for 30,000 miles or less, but I'm starting to think that this might be a pretty good deal. What do you guys think???

I paid $1600 for 2003 6.0 and 4l80e tranny. It took some clean up, but, it appears to be in good shape. The problem is that the gauge cluster was damaged and I don't know the miles. I did a carfax, but, gm only showed the mileage up to 18,000, it was serviced every few months according to records, just no mileage show on the fax. I'm not too worried, these motors run a long time. I'm estimating with what I could find out with the carfax and the time of the accident that it probably has 70,000 miles. I still think $1600 with that mileage is a good deal. This came out of a cargo van and it has the throttle cable and not the drive by wire. Mine also came with computer and complete harness including mass flow air sensor. You find the right deal.

Yeah, considering the fact that it came w/ the tranny, I'd say that was a really good price. I'd forgotten that being a 2003, it should definitely have the cable-driven TB, that would be a plus for me... Thanks locrzn!

I bought the motor/trans I was looking at. it had 53 miles on it and came out of a 2006 Tahoe. it is in excellent shape and very complete. all I need is a tac module and pedal assy for the electronic throttle. i paid $2500.00
